Avtodiesel Yaroslavl Motor Works is Russia’s leading engine plant, specializing in production of multi-purpose diesel engines, clutches, gearboxes, spare parts and power plants.

Over 300 models of vehicles and special-purpose equipment produced by Russian, Belorussian and Ukrainian plants are equipped with Yaroslavl engines. They power trucks, line-haul trains, heavy-duty dump trucks, buses, tractors and combine harvesters, construction and road-building equipment and diesel-electric power units.

Presently, the following products are manufactured under YaMZ brand: YaMZ-650 heavy-duty in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines 362-412 hp, Euro-4, Euro-3, UNECE regulations No. 96-02; YaMZ-530 medium-duty in-line 4- and 6-cylinder diesel engines 120-312 hp, Euro-4 (pilot production); two families of 6-, 8- and 12-cylinder diesel V-engines 150-800 hp, Euro-3, Euro-2, Euro-1, including 60 base models and over 200 configurations; 10 models of 5-, 8- and 9-speed gearboxes; clutches; diesel-electric power units, power plants with YaMZ engines 60-475 kW; over 1,000 types of original spare parts for all products of the plant.

The main customers include OJSC Ural Automobile Plant, OJSC MAZ, Likino Bus Plant LLC (LiAZ), AvtoKrAZ Holding Company, OJSC BelAZ. YaMZ engines are widely used in special vehicles for the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation.

In 2011 high reliability and durability of YaMZ-7Э846 engines helped KAMAZ-MASTER team to win the Dakar Rally for the tenth time and proved the uniqueness of Yaroslavl engines design.

Avtodiesel is implementing a number of major investment projects to launch products conforming to the highest international standards. The main project is the launch of YaMZ-530 Euro-4 and Euro-5 engines into volume production. The engines have been developed by Avtodiesel R&D centre with assistance from AVL List GmbH (Austria).The engineers took into account long and successful experience of YaMZ engines operation on various vehicles in adverse conditions.

Being Russian intellectual property, the project makes it possible to use YaMZ-530 engines without limitation on various vehicles, including those built for the military-industrial sector of the Russian Federation. YaMZ-530 production facility is being constructed with assistance from the leading international engineering companies and suppliers of equipment in compliance with international standards. The project conforms to the state policy of transportation means.
